On 19 June 2025, a three-day meeting of representatives of European cities concluded at the “Przylasek Rusiecki” Recreation and Leisure Centre. Among the attendees were mayors, researchers, urban planners, and local practitioners, who discussed the current shape of urban policy and the key challenges facing urban development.

As part of the Cities Forum, study visits were organised to present participants with Kraków’s experience and achievements in the field of sustainable urban development. One of the featured initiatives was the Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future project, which was presented during a study visit on 17 June. Nearly 50 registered Forum participants visited selected sites where the project is currently being implemented. Guests were introduced to the project’s concept, its main objectives, the components under implementation, the operating model of Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A., as well as the outcomes of revitalisation efforts to date. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to explore modern recreational infrastructure built around Reservoir No. 1 as part of the “Przylasek Rusiecki” Recreation and Leisure Centre, along with environmentally friendly solutions implemented to return this area to the residents of Kraków. The itinerary also included a visit to the “Nowa Huta of the Future” Economic Activity Zone, which exemplifies how post-industrial areas can be successfully repurposed for use by entrepreneurs from the Małopolska Region.

The visit attracted considerable interest from Forum participants (with the registration limit nearly reached), and the revitalisation model adopted by our company – an example of effectively harnessing the potential of post-industrial areas to create attractive public spaces for residents and tourists – received high praise from urban development experts and practitioners from across Europe. The event not only provided an opportunity to establish new contacts and engage in insightful discussions in the summer setting of Przylasek Rusiecki, but also offered a fresh and broader perspective on the Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future project.
