Investments in Sustainable Innovation for a Thriving Future – this is the main theme of the “Annual Investment Meeting” (“AIM”) congress, which was held on March 29-31 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“UAE”).

This annual meeting is organized by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The purpose of this event was to empower investors, drive global economic growth and global sustainability change. This year’s edition of AIM was held in parallel with Expo 2020 – the most prestigious global promotional event, during which individual countries, including Poland, present their offer. By joining the economic promotion of our region, representatives of the Municipalities of Krakow and Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A. (“KNHP”) presented the investment values ​​of Małopolska Region, with particular emphasis on the Krakow Metropolis, as part of the stand of the project “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business”.

What happened at the Middle East fair? We had interesting business talks as part of B2B meetings. They concerned the possibility of an inflow of foreign direct investments to Małopolska Region. Our region has a lot to offer and it is appreciated also in Arab countries – reports Krzysztof Kuczmański, vice-president of KNHP.

Representatives of KNHP they talked with entrepreneurs from countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and with international institutions and governmental organizations of the UAE.

Particularly noteworthy is the large representation of startups at the fair for which a separate discussion panel has been prepared. Networking sessions and meetings prepared by the organizers of AIM provided participants with many opportunities to exchange contacts, which already generate new meetings and opportunities to show the economic potential of Małopolska Region.

The Małopolska stand was very popular not only among entrepreneurs, business leaders, regional and international investors, experts involved in building the FDI attracting strategy, but also international media. On the last day of the event, a representative of KNHP gave an interview about investment opportunities in Małopolska Region for Australian television dealing with the subject of international trade and technological innovation. Participation in AIM Dubai 2022 was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the project “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business” (Regional Operational Program of the Małopolska Region for 2014-2020), implemented by KNHP in partnership with the Municipality of Krakow, the Krakow Metropolis Association and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Krakow.
