From 8 to 10 April, the Kraków Nowa Huta of The Future SA delegation participated in the Annual Investment Meeting 2019 in Dubai (AIM), one of the world’s most important events dedicated to direct foreign investments. Motto of this year’s AIM edition was: “Mapping of the future of foreign direct investments: enriching the world economies through digital globalization”. Four presidents, one vice-president and 40 ministers attended, including Evo Morales, President of Bolivia; Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria; Rustam Minnicahnow, President of Republic of Tatarstan; Ramzan Kadyrow, President of Chechen Republic. Additionally, the event gathered over 20.000 corporate leaders, decision makers, businessmen, regional and international investors, entrepreneurs, leading scientists, experts and other stakeholders from over 140 countries as well as 60 high-level officials and over 1000 FDI experts, representatives of Chambers of Commerce and business councils.

The stand of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA was situated in the international exhibition area. The visitors as well as participants of the direct B2B meetings were presented with the project “Krakow – Nowa Huta of the Future”, Krakow’s investment offer and economic potential of Malopolska Region. Talks with potential partners and business clients for SMEs of Malopolska Region on the possibility of attracting investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries of this region allow for optimistic forecast. Discussion with Sharjah Asset Management, a company supervised by the Sharjah emirate authorities, showed its openness to investments in Poland. Talks with Dubai Investment Park, Al Ahli Holding Group, as well as with representatives of the private office of HH Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Saeed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan were equally interesting.

A personal visit paid by the royal family member of Saudi Arabia H.R.H Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Saud on our stand, talk about economic potential of Malopolska and its capital – Kraków and about project “Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future” was a very important element of our presence on the AIM. Prince Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Saud expressed his interest in the project and declared to come to Nowa Huta.

Continuing the initiated business contacts is crucial for our promotional activities directed for investments as well as for the activities taken by the Malopolska enterprises on the UAE market.

Participation in the AIM Dubai 2019 was co-financed by European Union from the European Regional Development Fund in the framework of the project “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business” (Regional Operational Programme of Malopolska Voivodeship 2014-2020), implemented by Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA in partnership with Municipality of Kraków, Metropolia Krakowska Association and the Kraków Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
