On November 11-15, 2019, representatives of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA participated in the 14th edition of the “EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair”. This year it took place in two strategically important cities of China: in Chengdu in the west and in Qingdao in the north. This fair is one of the largest business events in China dedicated to investments and foreign trade as well as development in the area of modern technologies within the cooperation of European countries and China.

In previous years, among guests of the “EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair” were Peter Mandelson – former European Union Commissioner for Trade, Elżbieta Bieńkowska – European Union Commissioner for Internal Market and Services or Miloš Zeman – President of the Czech Republic.
So far, the fair has been visited by nearly four thousand participants from Europe, over seven thousand participants from China; almost three thousand contracts have been signed; B2B meetings, educational workshops and business conferences as well as investor and business presentations took place.

During this year’s edition of the “EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair”, at the exhibition stands both in Chengdu and Qingdao Krakow Nowa Huta of the Future SA presented the investment offer of the Krakow Metropolitan Area, Malopolska Region and the project “Krakow – Nowa Huta of the Future” itself. Over twenty individual meetings were held with Chinese entrepreneurs as a part of the Matchmaking event. In addition, PhD Artur Paszko – Chairman of the Board of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA – met with Grzegorz Morawski, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chengdu and Mrs Małgorzata Zawisza, Head of the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Agency for Investment and Trade. They were talking about the possibilities of cooperation with Chinese entrepreneurs, especially from the Sichuan provinces and presentation of the Małopolska economic offer on this market.

The “EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair” was also an opportunity to participate in accompanying events and conferences which favored discussions on common topics for the vision of cooperation and exchange of experience between countries of the European Union and China in the area of ecology, circular economy, development of smart cities, good practices in water resource management or the impact of globalization and closer Chinese-European cooperation on business.

The “EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair” is a place conducive to building international relationships, networking, promotion of ventures and gaining knowledge and information about dynamic and resource-rich Asian market. Participation in the fair is a part of the project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (Regional Operational Program of the Malopolska Region for the years 2014-2020). “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business”, implemented by Krakow Nowa Huta of the Future SA in partnership with the Krakow Municipality, the Krakow Metropolis Association and the Krakow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
