After a break caused by the pandemic, the Cannes and Munich investment and real estate fairs are returning, along with meetings with foreign entrepreneurs. Małopolska Region and in particular its capital together with the surrounding communes concentrated within the Krakow Functional Area are being actively promoted at these events.

How have the new restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way we look at the implementation of investments? How can the domestic gaming and new technology industries cooperate with investors from Japan? These are the questions that arose during the September meetings with entrepreneurs. The representation of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA participated in these events thanks to the project “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business”, in which it is the leader, supported by the Regional Operational Program of the Malopolska Region for 2014-2020. The other partners are: the Municipality of Krakow, the Krakow Metropolis Association and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Krakow.

The most prestigious fair in Europe

The MIPIM fair in Cannes is one of the largest and most prestigious events of this type in Europe. This year’s edition, held on 7-8 September, was the attempt by business community to respond to the dynamically changing market during the pandemic. It was also one of the first events of its kind organized after the break caused by the COVID-19 restrictions. The September fairs were also held in accordance with the new sanitary regulations.

Małopolska and Kraków were promoted by the employees of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA at their exhibition stand. Investors were particularly interested in such areas as: logistics, health and the office market.

Japanese investors in Krakow

A day later, on September 9, at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, employees of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA and partners of the project “Krakow Metropolitan Area for Business”, took part in the hybrid event Japan-CEE Investment Summit and Awards. It is a formula that is becoming increasingly popular in response to new sanitary regulations. A hybrid meeting allows to conduct panel sessions, lectures and B2B meetings also for those who cannot participate “in person”.

The Japan-CEE Investment Summit and Awards, on the one hand, concerned the usual topics discussed at this type of meetings, i.e. the issue of potential investment locations in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, but also made it possible to get to know the work culture of this region, which is helpful in conducting talks with investors from the Land of the Rising Sun. This issue was discussed with the life science & pharma, gaming and technology sectors.

The European Economic Congress in Katowice has just ended, at which the representation of Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future SA was also present.
