All plots of both subareas of the Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości” have been sold or leased. Eighteen entrepreneurs from the small and medium-sized companies sector have invested in the degraded post-industrial area, where KNHP S.A. prepared a greenfield site with complete infrastructure.
The commercialization process of the Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości” located on Igołomska Street in Kraków has been completed. 18 entrepreneurs representing the smart specializations of the Małopolska voivodeship have invested. 35 plots of land were sold or leased. Prepared by KNHP S.A. Economic Activity Zone consists of two subareas, “Igołomska-Południe,” which was made available to entrepreneurs in December 2022, and the Economic Activity Zone “Igołomska-Północ,” put into operation in November 2023.
Convenient infrastructure for modern business has been prepared In Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości”, providing roads, bicycle paths, pedestrian routes, so-called respite zones with Wi-Fi connectivity and parking lots with charging stations for electric cars. Economic Activity Zone is a greenfield site created on a degraded post-industrial area, with no existing buildings, equipped with complete infrastructure necessary for investment. The site is fully developed, with water and sewage systems, electric power systems and technological channels for running teletechnical networks. Comfort of use is ensured by a rebuilt high-voltage power grid and energy-efficient lighting.
The total cost of the construction of the Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości” amounts to 92.4 million PLN, of which PLN 58.9 million PLN is a subsidy obtained by Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A. from the European Funds under the Regional Operational Program of the Malopolska Region for 2014-2020.
Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości”, which is part of the Science and Technology Park “Branice”, is located 5 km from the eastern highway bypass of Kraków and 11 km from the A4 highway entrance. In 2025 it will gain a fast connection to the S7 route to Warsaw, and eventually to Podhale. The area has a highway connection to the John Paul II International Airport “Krakow Airport”, 30 km away, and there is a limited-certification airport in Pobiednik Wielki, 5 km away. It takes an hour to get to Katowice via the highway A4, and 1.5 hours to Rzeszow. There is also an active railroad line in close proximity. The carefully selected location allows to revitalize post-industrial areas and to take advantage of communication and proximity to the tourist, cultural and scientific wealth of Krakow.
The Economic Activity Zone “Nowa Huta Przyszłości” was designed and prepared for business incubators and high-tech and craft industry facilities.

Economic Activity Zone is owned by Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A. KNHP S.A. promotes Kraków, and in particular the Nowa Huta district and creates conditions for economic activation of the eastern part of Krakow on infrastructural, functional and social levels, reviving the labor market and counteracting unemployment. Thus, it increases the attractiveness of the city for investors, communities and tourists, and develops the entire region.
Economic Activity Zone, as well as the entire area covered by the project “Kraków – Nowa Huta Przyszłości”, is one of the investments that increase the attractiveness of this part of the city for residents, entrepreneurs and investors. KNHP S.A.’s task is not only to revitalize post-industrial areas, but also to highlight the strengths of Nowa Huta, which in recent years has effectively shortened the distance that for 75 years separated this district from the center of Krakow. This is a challenge all the greater as the development of Poland’s largest cities has gained a dynamism unknown for generations.
