During the DISCO Innovation Lab, the vice chairman of the board of Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A. Jakub Szymański outlined a vision of Nowa Huta as a district of the future and presented its investment potential.

 

DISCO Innovation Lab, which took place on May 22-24, 2024 in Krakow, was devoted to issues related to innovation, entrepreneurship, new technologies and regional development. The host of the event was the University of Economics in Krakow, which serves as the leading partner of the DISCO (Developing Innovative Sustainable Cooperation Opportunities) project. This is a project funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) aimed at strengthening the innovation capacity of European higher education institutions through joint learning, cooperation and knowledge transfer.

 

This year’s DISCO Innovation Lab gathered representatives of science and business support institutions from Norway, Ukraine, Switzerland, Portugal and Poland.

 

The participants also learned about the revitalization process of Nowa Huta, co-implemented by Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A., and the vision of the future of the eastern part of the city. They also had the opportunity to visit the “Nowa Huta District of the Future” Economic Activity Zone and learn about models of providing land to entrepreneurs..
