First works on creation of Economic Activity Zone in Nowa Huta are getting closer. On Mr.Mayor Jacek Majchrowski’s initiative, Kraków City Council adopted resolution to make non-cash contribution to Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future S.A. as the perpetual usufruct right of plot located at Cementowa Street in Nowa Huta with area of 6,77 ha. This is necessary to start works on Economic Activity Zone’s infrastructure building.
Economic Activity Zone will be extended almost up to 40 ha. It will be properly prepared, available mainly to small and medium entrepreneurs for investments in scope of “Smart Specialisations” of Małopolska Voivodeship (i.a. chemistry, life science, ICT).
It is not the first property contribution to Company. Kraków City Council has agreed so far to transfer the ownership title and the perpetual usufruct rights to 5 plots of the total area of 26,8 ha to Company According to planned schedule, all related procedures will finish by the end of the current year, so works connected with Economic Activity Zone construction will be able to start as planned.
Economic Activity Zone will be a part of Science and Technology Park “Branice”. This is the most important investment plan of “Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future” project. It will boost and revitalise economy of eastern part of Kraków and the whole Małopolska. The concept includes creation of pro-innovation scientific-research-technological of national and, even international importance. This is to be achived by building complex of facilities where office, laboratory, workshop, conference and exhibition spaces with additional services will be offered.
